The sad conclusion that was drawn from this research was most people are living lives that are unfulfilled, out of balance, and without purpose. The truth is - the majority of people are living lives without true happiness and joy. Journey to Joy Bible Conference began in 1999 by pastor and international evangelist Dr. Emil Dean Peeler as a yearly initiative that sought to provide crucial answers to life’s most critical questions by sharing transformational bible-based messages that lead to true joy, health, and spiritual wellness.

Since its inception, tens of thousands of persons from around the globe have achieved personal meaning and purpose by implementing Bible-based strategies that have been presented by Dr. Peeler and by those that have been asked to join as speakers for these life-changing conferences.

Dr. Emil Peeler
Dr. Emil Dean Peeler was born and reared in Sacramento, California, the third son of the late Arlie and Thomasina Peeler. He attended Oakwood University and is a graduate of Loma Linda University (Bachelor of Arts), Andrews University (Master of Divinity), and Claremont School of Theology (Doctor of Ministry). He shares his life with his wife, Brenda, and three young adult daughters; La Donna, Nicole, and Alisha, and one grandson, Jeremiah Emil. For over 33 years, Dr. Peeler has served in various positions of leadership in the body of Christ and the broader community notably as pastor, conference evangelist, author, associate ministerial director, college professor, executive director of Westside Brighter Vision Foundation, and director of Church Growth and Evangelism of Southeastern California Conference. He has served in the role of senior pastor at Compton Community SDA Church (Compton, CA), Sixteenth Street SDA Church (San Bernardino, CA), Maranatha SDA (San Diego, CA), and Dupont Park SDA in Washington, DC. In July of 2016, he returned to Washington DC and was installed as the senior pastor of the Capitol Hill SDA Church where the Lord has recently led the congregation to acquire a $1.9 million property to further the church's outreach initiatives. Additionally, he is engaged as an international evangelist and as an Adjunct Professor at Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, MD. Dr. Peeler is in constant demand as a preacher, mentor, motivational speaker, and leadership and church growth consultant worldwide. Because of his love, passion, and gift for teaching God’s Word, he has been blessed to preach in the Philippines, Africa, England, Korea, Jamaica, Bahamas, Trinidad, and Canada. He has also written books and produced music, and has been involved as a musical consultant for several noteworthy projects that have been critically acclaimed. His latest product is the Faith Facts Bible Lesson Series which was written for those seeking to know more about God’s Word. Thus far, the Lord has allowed him to share in the blessing of baptizing over 6,700 people into church fellowship. His ministry motto is: “When You Build people, you Build the Kingdom.”

Pastor Nigel Graham David has led a remarkable and inspiring life, marked by a journey from adversity to profound spiritual and community leadership. Born in the United Kingdom, he is married to Maryline Fiona Sinclair, and together they have four children: Rochelle, Nigel Jr., Kiran, and Lauren. Pastor David’s educational path began at Northern Caribbean University in Jamaica and continued at Newbold College in England, where he earned a BA in Biblical and Pastoral Studies and an MA in Pastoral Ministry. Additionally, he is a certified MRT Counselor, underscoring his commitment to both spiritual and mental well-being. Pastor David’s ministry career began in 2000, with his initial role as Associate Pastor at the Croydon SDA Church in London. His leadership skills were soon recognized, leading to senior pastoral roles at the Stratford and Ilford SDA Churches, also in London. In 2005, he transitioned to the United States, accepting a call to become the Senior Pastor of the Breath Of Life SDA Church in Seattle, WA. His journey continued through various senior pastoral roles, including at Berea SDA Church in Boston, MA, and as a Clinical Chaplain for Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo, CA. His extensive credentials also include being endorsed as a Chaplain by NAD Chaplaincy for the SDA Church and being a Board Certified Clinical Chaplain and Pastoral Counselor. Currently, he serves as the Senior Pastor of the New Jerusalem SDA Church in East St. Louis, IL. Beyond his pastoral duties, Pastor David has made significant contributions to media and motivational speaking. His television career began with the production "Promise Keepers" in 2001, which led to opportunities on the God Channel and The Word Network. He has preached globally, with one of the highlights of his ministry being the baptism of 98 individuals in South Africa in 1999. Pastor David’s personal testimony of transformation from a life of incarceration, gangs, and drug abuse to a global preacher serves as a powerful motivator. His life motto, "God will take what's left," encapsulates his belief in redemption and the power of faith to overcome any obstacle.
